José Antonio

Art Critic. Puerto Rico From "Puerto a Puerto", 2000.
Published in magazine Escenario, San Juan, Puerto Rico, March 26, 2000.

About the works by Carlos Kravetz, we observe esoteric contets, presented with devotional emotions. There is visual polysemy in his works, with a free flowing from conscious, oniric aspects as well as these related with revelation. There is a hinted imaginary that provides orientation in the search of a path towards current remnants of extinguished cultures. His capacity to articulate time is remarkable.(...) More deeptly we find subliminal communications where the brushstrokes mingle like irregular textiles, assuming active roles. As a result, representation emerges like quake waves from the deep of the earth. And simultaneously there is some mathematic balance in his works. (...) We meet with reduced spaces that are increased by sight, and even more by memory. They seem like entrances to cloisters that can be a way to evade conventions and rutine. They act as paths that take the viewer to dimentions to which we are not used yet.
